Skyy Moore’s latest blunder has Chiefs Kingdom clamoring for his release

Kansas City Chiefs fans have already seen enough of Skyy Moore, but he further solidified why it was time to cut bait and move on from wide receiver in the team’s Week 4 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

With the Chiefs facing 3rd-and-2 and needing a first down to move the chains, Patrick Mahomes threw a pass that went the way of Moore, who, as you might expect, failed to catch.

This isn’t a new trend at Moore. The Western Michigan product hasn’t been very impressive since joining the Chiefs in 2022. From dropped passes to more dropped passes to even more dropped passes, Moore was a disappointment after KC made a second-round pick on him two years ago.

This transformation wouldn’t exactly change how fans feel about Moore, but it could at least save him from being under fire for a week. Now whenever someone catches their first touchdown pass as Chief we say: “Look, they have as many goals as Skyy Moore!“Because it was so easy to dunk on him.

After watching Moore drop another pass when the team desperately needed someone to stand up in a tight game, Chiefs Kingdom understandably got back on their feet.

Some fans are ready to see other players get a chance instead of Moore.

The Chiefs have struggled to find help at wide receiver since Tyreek Hill was traded two years ago. Rashee Rice injured Against the Chargers after Mahomes’ interception made the position look even worse. That’s why the Chiefs probably won’t release Moore, but he doesn’t add anything to this roster.

Moore hasn’t been targeted a single time in the first three games of the 2024 season (not counting the game against the Chargers). This should be his last year with the team that drafted him, and maybe he could be good elsewhere, but it’s definitely not Kansas City.
