Ole Miss’ 20-17 loss to Kentucky was one of the biggest drops, falling from sixth to 12th.

Indiana (No. 23) and UNLV (No. 25) are new additions to the Top 25.

All eyes were on Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for the first big test of the Kalen DeBoer era.

During the first half, the Crimson Tide head coach was already making fans forget about Nick Saban. The home team was ahead 28-0 at halftime and was ahead by 23 points at halftime.

Georgia then went on the offensive in the second half and even took the lead on Dillon Bell’s 67-yard touchdown catch with 2:31 left in the fourth quarter. DeBoer was on the verge of being the toast of Tuscaloosa and would likely have some fans calling for him four games later.

Luckily for Alabama, freshman wide receiver Ryan Williams put on an incredible performance as he intercepted Jalen Milroe’s deep pass, then spun and eluded two Georgia defenders on his way to a 75-yard touchdown pass.

The Bulldogs marched to the Tide 20-yard line before quarterback Carson Beck threw an interception to seal the road to defeat.

In the end, the game mostly confirmed what we already knew, rather than revealing new facts. Alabama and Georgia appeared to be at least halfway Top Five teams, and a rematch in the SEC championship game or the College Football Playoff could be expected.

For Ole Miss, on the other hand, Saturday may have offered a reality check.

The Rebels went 4-0 in their non-conference games and won by an average margin of 49.5 points. Then they faced an SEC foe and their high-powered offense looked a little more ordinary.

Quarterback Jaxson Dart went 18-of-27 for 261 yards and a touchdown and was ejected four times. Running back Henry Parrish Jr. He went for 62 yards and a score on 13 carries.

Even though Caden Davis kicked a 48-yard field goal in last-minute regulation and Ole Miss went on to win in overtime, the team’s performance was a worrying sign as LSU, Oklahoma and Georgia were ahead on the schedule.

Ole Miss wasn’t the only undefeated team to get stranded in Week 5.

Illinois lost to Penn State 21-7. Utah ultimately couldn’t recover from the absence of point guard Cam Rising and fell to Arizona, 23-10. And Louisville’s late comeback bid failed in a 31-24 loss to Notre Dame.

The Fighting Illini probably looked the worst as they only accumulated 219 yards against the Nittany Lions. Their upset bid appeared to be baked late in the first half when they converted a first-and-goal from Penn State’s 2-yard line into a missed field goal from 45 yards out.

When we look at Week 6, there is no match as great as Alabama-Georgia on the schedule.

The most notable clash will take place in College Station, Texas, where Texas A&M will host Missouri 4-0. Iowa’s trip to Ohio State could also be interesting because the Hawkeyes have played the Buckeyes closely in the past.

The rematches of the previous year’s national championship game are also worth watching. There’s an additional subplot about how bad the Wolverines’ offense was in the Michigan-Washington game continues to perform After Alex Orji replaced Davis Warren at quarterback. Head coach Sherrone Moore is under enough pressure as it is. A loss to the Huskies would raise additional questions about whether he is the right candidate to replace Jim Harbaugh.
