2025 Matchbox Mix A is Here with a New Super Chase

2025 Matchbox Mix A is Here with a New Super Chase

There is a sad trend of some no-name companies buying up iconic automakers that are having financial problems. The plan is to deprive them of the soul they still have within them by manipulating them with new technology.

But this isn’t something you’ll hear from the marketing department. And I don’t plan on going any further with this story, at least not yet. Fortunately, I don’t think the same is true for Mattel and Matchbox. On the contrary, the casting manufacturer appears to be using the same marketing strategies it used before Hot Wheelsand that’s a good thing.

Diehard Matchbox enthusiasts may disagree, but that’s just my perspective. The newest models I’ve seen are pretty exciting and I’d probably buy more if my local toy/hobby stores carried some more. matchbox collections stagnate; otherwise, it might already have 100 items in it. Anyway, it’s only been a few days since we saw the contents of the first Hot Wheels Mainline Case of 2025.

Matchbox is next, unsurprisingly; Don’t expect that many cars or innovations here. If you’ve read any of my previous Matchbox stories, you’ll remember seeing some trailers inside. Otherwise, let’s take them one by one. Abe Lugo designed 2022 Ford F-150 Lightningand debuted in the 2022 MBX Off-Road lineup.

We had three variants: Grey, Silver and Red, making this black version our fourth in three years. The 1983 Ford Fiesta MK2 is a new frame for 2024, and it makes perfect sense for Mattel to include it in this 2025 chassis. This is one way to meet high demand. 1960 Chevrolet El Camino is a screaming casting genre: “Come and get me.”

I think this example would look great next to my 1968 Chevy C10. Are any of you collecting MBX: Recovery tools? The 2016 Ford Interceptor Utility doesn’t look all that different from the previous version, and I would have preferred an older Highway Patrol model in black. The ’70 Datsun 510 was here recently as part of the Matchbox Collectors series. Unless I’m completely mistaken, it’s still available at Mattel Creations for $25.

Meanwhile, Hot Wheels RLC model tickets are sold out. The color combination on the new base model is good enough and the company has also tried to improve the card design. But is it enough to make you want to buy one? 2024 Ford Explorer BEV It’s a brand new lineup and signals increased efforts to develop tiny EVs. But some people will tell you that the market may soon reverse this idea. Time will tell.

The highlight of Condition A has to be the Audi R8 Super Chase, if you can find it. Since the desirability level isn’t as high as that of the Hot Wheels Super Treasure Hunt models, I wouldn’t necessarily lose sleep over not buying one. The 1963 Mercedes Benz 230 SL would have been a much nicer option for this role, but perhaps it would have been better if Mattel had changed the color strategy for these special editions. Notice anything you like inside?
