Technology Upgrades for Small Business Owners – Indianapolis News | Indiana Weather | Indiana Traffic

Many small business owners struggle to find technology and software support. Here’s a development that might help.

Courtney Kincaid, President and CEO Indiana CPA SocietyWhen looking for IT support, small business owners should consider reaching out to their CPAs to find the right software as a service (SaaS) platform, he says.

Kincaid says a program like Quickbooks is a good example of software as a service. The small business owner can use software instead of hiring a full-time accountant. Kincaid says such services are safe, up-to-date and more affordable than hiring new staff.

Creating this type of infrastructure may not be a top priority for a business owner, but it can be critical to your company’s overall success, Kindcaid says.

Kincaid says it all comes down to risk tolerance. He wants business owners to think about things like contracts, how often they want to make changes, and what style of communication they need from a provider. “You interview them,” he says. It’s totally okay to ask questions and make sure they meet your needs.”
