Floods in Uttar Pradesh: CM Yogi Adityanath assesses situation in 11 affected districts

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday reviewed the flood situation in 11 districts of the state due to water released from mountains and bad weather conditions in the last three days. CM Yogi directed all officials concerned from eleven districts namely Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Lakhimpur Kheri, Ballia, Farrukhabad, Gonda, Kanpur Nagar, GB Nagar, Sitapur, Hardoi and Shahjahanpur to ensure proper relief efforts.

Senior officers have been asked to tour flood-affected areas and closely monitor ongoing relief efforts. NDRF and SDRF teams have been deployed in all eleven districts. CM Yogi instructed officials to assess the damage to crops and then submit a report to the state government. According to the statement, the government wants to provide compensation money to farmers as soon as possible. He also instructed the authorities to provide financial aid to citizens whose homes were damaged or who lost their animals.

Meanwhile, Relief Commissioner Bhanu Chandra Goswami said that relief operations are continuing on war footing in all 11 flood-affected districts. According to him, five villages of Kushinagar district were affected by the flood in Gandak river. The government has set up 16 flood shelters here. The total number of pre-positioned boats is 42, and one NDRF team and one SDRF team are also deployed in the area. NDRF team rescued 10 people stranded in floods

While five villages in Ballia faced erosion, 18 villages of three Tehsils were also affected by floods. Approximately 8,300 people were affected due to waterlogging. 700 people stay in 71 flood shelters established by the administration. The administration distributed 1200 lunch packets along with 200 food grains.

While a village of Tehsil in Farrukhabad district was affected by the flood, approximately 450 people were affected due to waterlogging. The administration has established 24 flood shelters. A PAC team is also currently working in the region.


Three villages of the same Tehsil in Gonda district were affected by floods in Ghaghara River. Approximately 452 people were affected by the flooding. On Sunday, management distributed 260 lunch packages.
