Inside McQueen’s Legendary Show with Salma Hayek, Woosung and Cardi B

DRAMA QUEEN: Sean McGirr amped up the drama with a theatrical runway show that featured a smoke-filled catwalk and looks steeped in Irish lore.

This was the creative director’s second trip to Paris Fashion Week.

Salma Hayek sat with her husband and Kering Chief Executive François-Henri Pinault as she showed off the cut of her gold sequin dress. It was low but had hidden panels that provided more coverage.

Hayek attributed the construction to his tailoring skills.

“I would never have considered this,” she said, categorizing McGirr’s look as “dramatic, sophisticated, but in my comfort zone.”

Hayek had just finished a photo shoot showcasing her runway looks earlier in the day. “I kept a lot of things for my real life. “Sometimes it’s exciting to find things that make you feel comfortable but have that extra ‘wow’ factor,” she said.

The actress had her pick of the company’s brands, but praised McGirr’s reinvention of the McQueen DNA.

“We had a few outfits to choose from, and we quickly went for this coat, which was such a beautiful, lovely character,” she said, reviving the vintage rock ‘n’ roll look of oversized faux fur.

Getting ready early in the day with WWDShe explained that the entire look was from McGirr’s debut collection and included a form-fitting Henley, studded accessories, and some very intricate shoes.

He said that his new album, “4444”, takes the guitarist in the direction of EDM. “As a solo artist, I like to try things that I really liked at the time, and this album really represents who I am now. That’s why I’m so excited for people to hear about it.” It will drop on Friday.

In the front row, Woosung was sitting across from Cardi B, who was making the most of her busy fashion week and putting on a fashion show or two every day. He praised McGirr’s vision behind the scenes.

She declared the high-collared lace knit dress as her favorite because she knew it would suit her body very well, saying, “It was very beautiful, dark, edgy.” “Give me 14,” he joked.

McGirr said he scoured the McQueen archives to find inspiration for the collection, which touches on the Irish folklore of the banshee. The show was held at the Ecole des Beaux Arts; here they copied and cracked the building’s original tile floor and added a steel-clad track by artist Tom Scutt.

“There are so many treasures in the archive,” McGirr said; These include unused fabric pieces and unreleased accessories. “I’m always looking at these little details and how we can incorporate them into the collection.”

Cardi B also loved the final look; A windswept silver case with intricate beads and headpiece. “I would say this is very, very heavy, but fuck it, this is fashion. “I would wear that.”
