Cupra Formentor Shark-Nose gets an update and becomes more expensive

The updated Cupra Formentor has arrived in Israel. A coupe crossover with dramatic design and sporty orientation, the Formentor is the first independent model of the sub-brand that has evolved into a manufacturer that continues to operate alongside SEAT.

As before, the Formentor will be offered in two engine versions: the 1.5-litre and the VZ with a more powerful 2.0-litre engine. Both versions feature the new front end of the Cupra family; It features a closed shark nose design similar to the manufacturer’s electric cars, but these models still only come with internal combustion engines. Additionally, both the front and rear lights are now connected by a light strip that includes an illuminated logo. The most significant change inside the cabin is a larger multimedia screen, now 12.9 inches compared to the previous 12 inches, and a new steering wheel design with drive mode control and engine start button.

In terms of engines, the plug-in version is not currently produced and the model continues with the same power units, albeit with minor changes. The 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine, producing 150 horsepower, is now equipped with a 48V mild hybrid system. It is front-wheel drive, taking 9 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. VZ’s 2.0-liter engine gains 23 hp, increasing total power to 333 hp and reaching speeds from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. This version has permanent all-wheel drive and now includes a limited-slip rear differential. Both versions come with a 7-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission.
