Disney Unveils First Model Homes in Desert City, New California

Disney’s new living community is one step closer to becoming a reality with three model homes nearing completion.

Mouse House announces it will launch a new business to be developed in 2022 Residential communities known by Disney as Storyliving.

Cotino is the first community to bear fruit of this type and is located in Rancho Mirage in the Greater Palm Springs region of California. Second Story living community It is planned about 30 miles west of Raleigh, North Carolina.

Built by Shea Homes, one of three construction companies working on the project, the display homes are part of the home styles at Cotino known as the Oasis, Agrarian and Aspiron collection.

The completed model homes, which are scheduled to be unveiled to the public in November, “delighted” Storyliving vice president Jay Critcher.

“We’re really excited about the interest we’re seeing,” Critcher said. Desert Sun. “We’re kind of moving from presales to sales, so as we put more of our model homes on the market, we’re starting to move into active sales as well.”

The exhibition house in the Oasis collection is a one-story house of approximately 2,275 square meters and has two bedrooms. The agricultural collection house is a two-storey building and measures approximately 2,820 square meters.

Both exhibition houses are located in the Cotino area called Longtable Park, which is reserved for residents aged 55 and over.

The Aspiron collection house had 2,925 square feet in a single-story structure and, like the other two houses, had a pool in the backyard.

Disney has yet to confirm how many homes it has sold, but homes are expected to sell for around $1 million and go for more than $2 million.

Critcher confirmed that most of the interest in the homes is coming from people living in California, but also from many people in the United States.

“I think we have a tremendous commitment to our brand and people really respect the brand and I think people in the Coachella Valley are anxious to be a part of Disney and so we’re riding that wave and enjoying it.” he said.

Cotino will feature 1,932 planned homes on more than 600 acres, and features of the new community will include a 24-acre lagoon, a sandy beach, water sports and a promenade. The dining and shopping area will be open to the public, like the beach, but residents will need to purchase a day pass to access the beach.

Access to beaches will cost extra, as will access to other lifestyle features.

“Through club membership, Disney will also provide access to curated experiences such as wellness programs, entertainment ranging from live performances to cooking classes, philanthropic efforts, seminars and much more,” the company said.

Josh D’Amaro, President of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, said the Storyliving project is a way to bring Disney into people’s daily lives.

“For nearly 100 years, Disney has been sharing stories that touch the hearts and minds of people around the world,” he said when Storyliving launched in 2022. “As we prepare to enter our second century, we are developing new and exciting ways to bring the magic of Disney to people wherever they are, expanding storytelling to story living. We look forward to welcoming residents to these beautiful and unique Disney communities where they can live their lives to the fullest.”
