Community gathers for Valley United for Vets

DAYTON, Va. (WHSV) – Despite Hurricane Helene’s impact on the area, community members gathered in Dayton on Saturday to celebrate the first Valley United for Vets event to help raise money for veterans across the Valley.

The event was able to raise over $45,000 for veterans, but President and Coordinator of the event, Daniel “Hef” Glazner, said they did not raise nearly as much as he originally hoped. He has already begun planning to make next year’s event even better.

“I started two months ago on next year’s. “I think that’s going to play for us, and I think people seeing all these different clubs combined, and all the hard work we put in is going to make a lot of differenc,” Glazner said. “They know we are 100% donating everything we take in.”

Those who were not able to make it can still donate online.
