Katie Holmes was spotted enjoying a casual outing alone in New York City on Saturday.

The 45-year-old Dawson’s Creek star, who recently received positive reviews for his Broadway play Our Town, went for a casual stroll on his day off while enjoying his 18-year-old daughter Suri Cruise’s first semester of college at Carnegie Mellon University.

Tom Cruise’s ex-wife looked comfortable in a colorful sweater and baggy sweatpants while chatting on the phone.

She wore her brunette locks in a ponytail and was carrying a Tribeca Festival bag.

Holmes wore a pair of sunglasses and slung a white designer bag over her shoulder.

The Dark Knight actress appeared to be in good spirits and was enjoying a trip to the Big Apple by herself.

The brunette beauty seems to be handling an empty nest well after dropping off her only child, whom she shares with the Mission Impossible star, at college in Pennsylvania in August.

Tom and Katie were married from November 2006 until they separated in August 2012 due to ‘irreconcilable differences’.
