Popular Twitch streamer Kai Cenat The Junior Basketball Association (also known as the Junior Ballers Association) made its debut on Saturday at Overtime Arena. With a draft full of kids, a basketball court polished with the LBA logo, professional referees and an engaged fan base, it would be easy to forget that the newly formed league was a fictional circuit born from Cenat’s mind.

During his broadcast on September 27, Cenat parodied a traditional NBA draft in which viewers see him move from the promised third-round draft pick to the final draft pick. It was the latest viral skit from the broadcaster, known for his elaborate jokes and celebrity guests, from the comfort of his Atlanta bedroom.

“Standing at a whopping 5’4″, he is the head honcho of the New York Sky. Kai Cenat,” said the LBA presenter as he announced Cenat to applause.

Fans of different ages were sitting in the crowd with large cuts of Cenat’s head. Other popular broadcasters like Tylil James also sat courtside and cheered on the New York Sky. At 22 years old and several meters taller than his teammates and opponents, Cenat stood out, ironically, a sharp difference from the NBA’s average height of 1.70. But what they lacked in size they made up for in determination.

While the rival team, Dallas Giants, was fighting against New York Sky, the young players who were struggling to win the first match of the league competed fiercely with each other. It was a time when young players shined, showing off their skills by dribbling up and down the field, making plays and shooting. However, Cenat’s performance in the first half gave clues as to why he was drafted last in his league. The player, wearing the navy blue and orange New York Sky jersey, scored only two points in the first half.

However, due to Cenat’s missed shots and multiple falls, it was clear that his goal was to give young basketball players the opportunity to showcase their skills and play in a semi-professional environment.

New York Sky defeated Dallas Giants 53-44.
