Community comes together for Valley United for Vets

DAYTON, Va. (WHSV) – Despite Hurricane Helene’s impact on the region, community members gathered in Dayton on Saturday to celebrate the first Valley United for Vets event to help raise money for veterans in the Valley.

The event managed to raise over $45,000 for veterans, but the event’s President and Coordinator, Daniel “Hef” Glazner, said they did not raise as much money as he had originally hoped. He’s already started planning to make next year’s event even better.

“I started two months ago, at the beginning of next year. I think it will be beneficial for us and I think people will bring all these different clubs together and the hard work we put in will make a lot of difference,” Glazner said. “They know we donate 100% of everything we receive.”

Those who can’t do it can still do it donate online.
