Mercedes-Benz Stadium announced as the host of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – As Mercedes-Benz Stadium prepares to host seven matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a friendly tournament will also be played at the stadium.

Benz has been selected as one of the 12 stadiums to host the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. 32 teams from six confederations will compete for the world championship in the tournament.

The following teams qualified for the tournament: Al Ahly from Egypt; Wydad from Morocco; Es Tunis from Tunisia; Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa; Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia; Urawa Red Diamonds from Japan; Al Ain from the United Arab Emirates; Ulsan HD FC from South Korea; Chelsea and Manchester City from England; Real Madrid and Athletico Madrid from Spain; Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund from Germany; Paris Saint-Germain from France; Inter Milan and Juventus from Italy; FC Salzburg from Austria; Monterrey, Club Leon and Pachuca from Mexico; Auckland City from New Zealand; Palmeiras, Flamengo and Fluminense from Brazil; Seattle Sounders from the United States; and River Plate and Boca Juniors from Argentina.

The winners of the 2024 CONMEBOL Libertadores and one other team from the USA will qualify for the tournament.

Benz will be joined by MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Miami Gardens, Hard Rock Stadium in Florida, Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Lumen Field in Seattle, TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Geodis Park in Nashville, Tennessee, Orlando, Audi It will be accompanied by the Inter&Co Stadium in . field in Washington, D.C. and Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The tournament will take place between June 15 and July 13, 2025. MetLife Stadium will host the final.
