Domenico Marocchino explains why Motta’s Juventus look like Allegri

After three consecutive league draws, comparisons are being made between Thiago Motta’s Juventus team and the team coached by Max Allegri last season. Similar to Allegri’s Juve team, Motta’s side struggled to find consistent form and went on a winless run that resembled the long draws and underwhelming performances that derailed the club’s title challenge last year. Although neither team lost consistently, the inability to win a match raised concerns.

However, Motta was brought in to replace Allegri with a long-term vision in mind. He had to add many new players while adapting to a new environment, which is a challenging process for any manager. Unlike Allegri’s more conservative, defensive style, Motta’s approach is more attack-oriented and modern, but the results are yet to come. The club remains confident that he can succeed, knowing that it takes time to fully implement his system.

Although both teams face similar challenges in terms of results, the main difference lies in the style of play. While Allegri’s Juve player has been criticized for being too defensive and pragmatic, Motta is trying to create a more offensive and dynamic side. Still, Juve need to get back to winning ways as soon as possible, otherwise the comparisons with Allegri’s era will become even stronger.

Domenico Marocchino also thinks so and explains: tuttojuve:

“For me there is a certain similarity between the two, it is no coincidence that the director is Locatelli, who still plays in the same way as Allegri, and perhaps even in the most important matches Motta brings in McKennie as quickly as he can, hence the former guard, so the tempo of the Allegri management and “From that perspective, not much has changed, but there are a lot of new players in this year’s squad so time is needed.”

Juve FC Says

We need to win many matches to stop this comparison because we did not struggle to keep a clean sheet under Allegri.
