Warning: Spoilers for The Last of Us Part 2 and possibly The Last of Us Season 2 lie ahead.

HBO’s The second season of The Last of Us It released its first full trailer yesterday, and attentive fans of the game are already seeing flashbacks of scenes they don’t want to remember.

The second season of The Last of Us has been released properly reintroduced us to Ellie and JoelFive years after the Firefly showdown, they now appear to be living slightly more normal lives, adding Kaitlyn Dever’s Abby to the mix. But things don’t stay safe for very long, and before you know it, clickers and survivors alike are screaming behind the lens, practically begging for more Emmys.

But anyone who’s played The Last of Us Part 2 knows what those cries are about, and a particularly brutal scene is referenced more than once in the trailer. When things get heated in the trailer, whistling sounds can be heard in the background of some fast cuts. But that deafening ringing actually comes from the first scene of The Last of Us Part 2, where Abby turns Joel’s head into a golf ball. You can see a side by side comparison in the clip below.

It’s the sound editing equivalent of HBO winking at the already traumatized audience who knew what was coming and nodding to anyone still in denial about Joel’s fate; This is both twisted and kind of funny. The better part of the Easter Egg is that the noise starts ringing out the moment Joel and Abby first cross paths.

Abby is seen running away from the herd of clickers, crawling through the snow, and being cornered by a fence in the trailer. Until 1 minute and 11 seconds in, when an infected pins him down, Joel’s gun flies into frame to save his would-be killer, and those scary, all-too-familiar sounds start playing. Ah.

However, not everything will be revealed in the next season. Adapting The Last of Us Part 2 will require multiple seasons of television.
