City of Grand Junction and Mesa County Valley School District Sign Agreement for 51st Orchard Mesa Community Pool

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) – The City of Grand Junction City Council and the Mesa County Valley School District 51st Board of Education have signed a joint agreement to ensure the continued operation of the Orchard Mesa Community Pool.

51st Regional Inspector Dr. “We are grateful for our partnership with the City of Grand Junction and their cooperation throughout this process,” said Brian Hill. “Our organizations and governing bodies worked together on a collaborative agreement that prioritized the needs of the community while being fiscally responsible.”

The agreement will keep the pool open until December 2026. Grand Junction Mayor Abram Herman said of the joint agreement:

“The City of Grand Junction is grateful to our partners at Mesa County Valley School District 51 and their continued operation of the Orchard Mesa Community Pool to serve the community… This agreement reflects a commitment to providing recreational spaces for families, children and schools. New Community in 2026 Elderly people waiting for the opening of the Recreation Center.

The joint effort to extend the life of the Orchard Mesa Community Pool will maintain residents’ access to the facility as both parties plan for its future.
