IoT solutions company Raytac introduces the AN7002Q Wi-Fi 6 module series integrating Nordic Semiconductor nRF7002 The chipset is designed for Industrial IoT, smart home, healthcare, consumer electronics and automotive applications. They can be paired with Raytac’s MDBT53 Bluetooth LE modules. nRF5340 Multi-protocol SoC supporting Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE solutions.

AN7002Q is a low-power Wi-Fi 6 module that supports dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz operation with a maximum PHY data rate of 86Mbps (MCS7). It complies with IEEE 802.11ax, a/b/g/n/ac standards and connects to a host SoC or MCU via SPI or QSPI interfaces. The module also supports interoperation with Bluetooth LE, Thread and Zigbee systems, making it ideal for IoT applications.

For optimal RF layout, ensure that the “No Ground” area is as large as possible, regardless of PCB size, and keep this area at the corresponding location of the antenna on each layer of the PCB. Additionally, positioning the module closer to the edge of the PCB will provide better performance than placing it in the center.

The AN7002Q module is designed to support radio coexistence and can be used with other nRF Series devices. When paired with Raytac’s MDBT53 series, for example, it provides a combined Bluetooth LE and Wi-Fi solution.
