Trimble Launches Vehicle Inspection Solution for Fleets

Trimble’s explained Trimble’s Inspections is a new Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) solution for commercial fleets. The solution supports fleet safety, regulatory compliance, and driver and back-office workflows.

Can be used with: Trimble’s Instinct – Trimble’s flagship telematics and fleet management software solution – Trimble’s Inspections adds a streamlined truck and trailer inspection app to Instinct’s driver experience. This new inspection application allows drivers to inspect both the tractor and trailer simultaneously within the same workflow.

Trimble’s Inspections also supports safe fleet performance and fleet maintenance efforts with the ability to connect inspection workflow with maintenance solutions such as: Trimble’s TMT Fleet Maintenance and Penske’s maintenance portal. These direct integrations provide a closed defect loop experience in repair order workflows, including automatic alerts to fleet maintenance managers about the need for vehicle repairs if a driver reports a defect during a pre-trip or post-trip inspection.

Trimble’s Inspections also combine truck and trailer inspections into a single workflow for fleets operating in both the US and Canada as a DVIR solution that complies with US Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators (CCMTA) regulations.

With personalization capabilities, Trimble’s Audits allow back-office fleet managers to create configurable checklists based on load and truck type as well as specific business needs. While on the road, this allows drivers to inspect their assets using inspection workflows customized for their journey.
