Can’t Wait for Honor Magic 7? Might Be Here Next Month

In January this year, Chinese manufacturer Honor launched the Magic 6 and Magic 6 Pro. The launch may have been overwhelmed by excitement for the Galaxy S24 series, which launches a few days from now, but the Honor Magic 6 phones are truly some of my favorites this year.

Although it looks like we will have to wait until January 2025 to see the successors of these amazing devices, it looks like Christmas will come early. Honor Magic 7 series may launch in October, which will start in a few days.

Honor’s Magic 7 Series Will Be Released Three Months Earlier Than Expected

Honor chose January for its spectacular launch Magic 6 smartphones. I’m a big fan of both of these devices, not only because they have outstanding features, but also because they offer a design that stands out among smartphone designs that no longer excite me. I can’t wait to see what the successive series can bring to the table, and I don’t have to wait long for that.

Thanks to Digital Chat Station on WeiboWe now know that the Honor Magic 7 and Magic 7 Pro will arrive much earlier than planned. The phones will arrive in October instead of January, which will start in less than a week.

At the moment, there isn’t much information about the specs of the upcoming devices, but we can reasonably expect the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (unless the company decides to switch to MediaTek; an unexpected decision). The post also seems to hint that the company is using the OmniVision sensor, likely a 50MP unit, for its primary trigger. We also expect a 2K OLED display. at least on the Pro model.

Artificial Intelligence Will Of Course Emerge

This shouldn’t be surprising, but we know that artificial intelligence will be an element that will be discussed in detail at the Honor Magic 7 launch. At IFA Berlin this year, the company confirmed that the Magic 7 series will come with the AI Agent personal assistant. It is expected to be able to learn your habits and instantly automate tasks such as unsubscribing from services.

Honor Possibly Advances Release Schedule to Provide Early Access to New Qualcomm Chip

There must be a good reason why a company launches a smartphone three months before its predecessor. I can only guess, but honestly I think this is because Honor wants to compete much better with other manufacturers who will be releasing the next devices.

Vivo, OnePlus, Xiaomi and Oppo will launch their phones next month, and the advantage of October for them will be very early access to new flagship SoCs. Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Generation 4 (may be called Snapdragon 8 Elite) or MediaTek Dimension 9400. The fact that OnePlus also highlights its expected release from December gives some credence to this.
