‘The outstanding performance was only slightly marred by the lack of goals’

We asked for your thoughts after Rangers’ comfortable 2-0 win over Malmo in their Europa League opener on Thursday.

Here’s what you need to say…

Peter: Sterling performance from everyone. The speed and tempo quickly shook them up. They didn’t know how to deal with us in the first half. If the Europa League is our forte, that’s fair enough at the moment. A little mention from Connor Barron, aka the new Barry Ferguson.

John: Cool bears! New signings Propper, Kasanwirjo and Bajrami look good. Well done to young Ross McCausland too. Nobody gave us a chance. Perfect. Where is the final?

Martin: Well done guys, a very comfortable performance. Being away from home, especially in Europe, is always an advantage at any time of the season. There are many positives to tonight’s performance; three wins and three clean sheets. Let’s start from this result, we will become stronger as more players return from injury.

-Raymond: Credit to Rangers for what could have been a crucial win at the end of the league stage. Away from home, they really bossed the Swedish champions-in-waiting. Yes, there were obvious mistakes but we kept a clean sheet and got the win. Rangers’ performances are slowly getting there. The Celtic game perhaps came too early in Clement’s rebuild.

Allan: Rangers’ excellent performance was somewhat marred by a lack of goals as many chances were missed. A solid display from the defense and some masterful passing moves made that a relief on the night. The only time Malmo looked dangerous was when they put pressure on Rangers just after half-time, which may indicate a weakness in the Rangers defence.

Andrew: Tonight we showed a good performance away against a team we always compete with. I thought John Souttar defended very well tonight but the amount of very good opportunities we missed is concerning. It should have disappeared halfway out of sight.

: A hugely encouraging performance, albeit against a surprisingly disappointing team. If all opportunities had been taken, it should have been 6-0. But most of all I loved the work pace of each Ranger… and Tavernier was an inspiration.

David: Excellent performance! The backbone of the team was huge and Dessers was at the top. Diomande and Barron were impressive, as was Propper and Souttar. We must improve this performance and continue on our way. Finally something to smile about.

– Lennie: Apart from missing a few easy opportunities, the whole team put in a great performance. The team was outstanding! Diomande covered all the grass, Souttar and Propper were great defensively, we are going in the right direction but we have to build on this performance.

Peter: One of the key comments about last night’s performance was that all the negativity was stopped. Rangers won away against decent opponents, but there are still those who say the finish could have been better. But they won and that doesn’t matter to some. Stand behind the team and voice your support, not criticism. Well done Rangers.
