Born in Pietermaritzburg and raised in Britain, Jody Mayhew became known in South Africa for her soulful performances. He taught himself to play the guitar at the age of 15 and appeared on stage at the age of 18. Since then, Jody has released eight songs on various platforms, including ‘Travel the World’, which reached the top 3 in an international competition. His first Afrikaans song ‘Altyd Somer Saam Met Jou’ was widely played on radio and firmly established his presence in the music industry.

Known for her distinctive style of blending familiar songs with her own original compositions, Jody’s performances are a fusion of Singer-Songwriter, Country and Afrikaans influences. His music has captivated audiences across the country and he has had the honor of opening for renowned South African artists such as Arno Carstens, Roan Ash, Francois van Coke, Juan Boucher and Dozi.
