Bjarke Ingels, founder and creative director of BIG-Bjarke Ingels Group, said the inspiration behind the hotel’s unique architectural design was “a conversation between the past and the future of El Cosmico.”

“By testing the geometric limits of ICON’s 3D-printed structure, we imagined fluid, curvilinear structures that enjoy freedom of form in the empty desert,” says Ingels. In the print medium, circular forms appear to emerge from where they stand.
