THE CROOKED MAN Is Skipping Theaters; Coming Straight to Digital in October — GeekTyrant

Ketchup Entertainment Hellboy: The Crooked Man It actually looks like a really cool thing Hellboy The film is one we won’t be able to watch on the big screen, as it will skip theatrical release and go straight to digital.

According to pre-order lists at retailers including Amazon, Hellboy: The Crooked Man It will be released digitally direct to home on October 8, 2024.

You can currently pre-order the new film digitally from Amazon for $19.99.

Hellboy: The Crooked Man stars Jack Kessey and “Set in the 1950s, the film stars Adeline Rudolph (Resident Evil), a rookie agent for the BPRD who teams up with Hellboy to protect the citizens of Appalachia from the terrifying Crooked Man, who is harvesting souls for the devil.”

The film was directed by: Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance And Crank Co-director Brian Taylor. The script was written by the series creator Mike Mignola And Chris Gold.

Mignola previously talked about The film claims that this adaptation is the most faithful to the original to date. Crooked Man producer Les Weldon had previously spoken about being cast in the role:

“We went on a long soul-searching journey to find the right Hellboy, and we knew this Hellboy was going to be a very somber, very dark, very creepy movie. There’s no glamour, nothing like that.

“And Jack, look, I’d worked with Jack before, and so had other guys in our company, and we just decided that his personality would work really well in that movie.”

Mignola has previously spoken about the director’s dark horror vision for the film: “The intention is to make a horror movie, so it’s going to be good. It’s going to be interesting. I read the new draft of the script yesterday, and yeah, it’s definitely R.

“It was the first Hellboy script I read and I said, ‘Oh, this is a horror movie,’ and that’s what I wanted. Taylor has no reputation as a horror director.

“But we’ve only ever had two horror directors make Hellboy movies, and we’ve never made a horror movie. For years, we’ve said, if you’re going to make a Hellboy movie, make it small. And the perfect story to do that is my personal favorite, ‘The Crooked Man.’ I think it’s one of the best things I’ve ever written.

“It’s a solid story, beautifully illustrated by Richard Corben, and it doesn’t feature a million different characters. Everyone actually agreed from the very beginning that, ‘Yes, we want to do this.’

“It’s good budget-wise because it’s a lower-budget story. It’s not a Hellboy origin story. It’s not Hellboy saving the world. It’s not huge. It’s a subtle, dark, little folk horror story.”

The film also stars the following actors: Adeline Rudolph (resident Evil), Jefferson White (Saritas) like Tom Ferrell, Leah McNamara As Effie Kolb, Joseph Marcell As Reverend Watts, Hannah Margetson As Cora Fisher and Martin Bassindale Like, among others, the Crooked Man.
