A QB, RB, WR, and TE are all set to deliver big performances in Week 4

Week 3 NFL action It’s over now, which means it’s time to look ahead to week 4 fantasy football. There are some intriguing games on the docket, and for the second week in a row, we have two Monday night games. To be honest, I’m torn on this one — I like to watch as much football as possible, and two Monday games limit that, but it was nice to be able to move on from the Bills/Jaguars crushing win in Week 3 to the exciting Commanders/Bengals game.

But no matter — I know you’re not here to read my thoughts on NFL programming. You’re here to get some advice to help your fantasy football team. The intro to these types of articles is like the intro you see when you’re looking for a meatball recipe — you just scroll through. I can tell you anything here. I could even tell you the secret to winning your fantasy football league and you’d never see it, right?

Below is one player from each skill position who is expected to have a strong showing in fantasy football in Week 4 of 2024.

Kyler Murray looks like the overall QB1 in fantasy this week against the Washington Commanders.

That’s because Washington has consistently struggled to stop opposing passers this season. QBs have thrown for 791 yards, nine touchdowns and zero interceptions against the Commanders this season — the third-most yards, most touchdowns and fewest interceptions, but the team is tied with four other teams in that regard.

Murray is coming off a bit of a down game, throwing his first interception of the season against the Lions in Week 3, but against a Rams team that allowed similar passing numbers to the Commanders in Week 2, Murray threw for 266 yards and three touchdowns, as well as adding another 59 yards on the ground.

His offensive ability really raises both his floor and ceiling in fantasy. He hasn’t had more than five carries in a game yet, but he’s had 45 or more yards in every matchup. He’s picking his spots to run and has had 20-plus yard carries in every game so far.

Devin Singletary is currently ranked as just the RB23 in the FantasyPros consensus Week 4 rankings, but I think he will have a pretty strong showing this week against a Dallas Cowboys defense that has struggled this season.

The Cowboys have allowed the fourth-most rushing yards to opposing rushers this season, but their biggest challenge has been keeping them out of the end zone. The team has allowed six rushing scores and one passing score to RBs, the most in the NFL.

Singletary enters the week having scored in two consecutive games and has played in at least 68% of New York’s plays each week. He had 20 touches against Cleveland in Week 3. Sure, he probably won’t go out there and do a ton of explosive running, but his role puts him in a spot where he can get yards and get the ball into the end zone.

It really helps that he faces almost no competition. Take Week 3, for example. Tyrone Tracy had five carries and two targets. Eric Gray had one carry. Singletary has nearly complete control over this backfield, and none of the players behind him have shown enough for that to realistically change in the near future.

We’re revealing our cards here because this matchup is too competitive for us to ignore.

As noted above, the Commanders have given up nine passing touchdowns this season. Notably, all nine have gone to wide receivers. The team has done a surprisingly good job of defending opposing tight ends, but the wide receivers have consistently countered that, setting Harrison up for a strong Week 4 performance.

Rookie Marvin Harrison Jr. got off to a pretty poor start in Week 1, catching just one pass for four yards and looking dazed by the pace of the NFL game, but that daze didn’t last long. Harrison was dominant in Week 2, catching four passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns.

And to prove that this wasn’t a fluke, he had another strong showing in Week 3. Harrison was targeted 11 times, catching five passes for 64 yards and a touchdown. The expectation this season was that Harrison would be the clear No. 1 receiver on a team with major question marks at the other wide receiver spots, and… that expectation seems to have been mostly met. In Week 3, Michael Wilson and Greg Dortch combined for 11 catches, so that’s not to say either of them are insignificant, but Harrison can impact the game more with his targets than either of those two. Not to underestimate them — MHJ is just a special talent.

I’ve been all over Dalton Kincaid this season. I initially thought he was in for a breakout season, but after he was targeted just twice in Week 1 against the Cardinals, I was worried he wouldn’t be high enough in a pecking order that’s been tough to crack in Buffalo’s offense.

But Kincaid had his best game of 2024, catching three of his five targets for 41 yards and a touchdown. He’s sharing snaps with Dawson Knox, which isn’t ideal for fantasy managers, but he has nine targets over the last two games while Knox has only two, so it doesn’t really affect his production.

This week, Kincaid faces a Ravens team that has allowed 280 yards passing to opposing tight ends, the second-most in the NFL. Brock Bowers had 98 yards against the Ravens in Week 2, and Jake Ferguson followed that up with 95 yards last week. Kincaid is no Bowers, but his skill level is right up there with Ferguson’s – if not slightly above him. I have high hopes for Kincaid in this matchup.
