A wedding singer makes a great addition to the mood of the event and one man went viral after brightening up his cousin’s big day by surprising her with a thrilling opera performance.

A video sent TikTok Jason Berger (@jasonberger05) went viral after sharing the moment he surprised his cousin with his own version of “Nessun Dorma” at her wedding. The footage has gone viral with 143,000 views and over 10,000 likes. Berger, 33, Newsweek He explained how he used his operatic talents at such a special event and how the crowd reacted.

“I decided to surprise my cousin by singing ‘Nessun Dorma’ at her wedding in Brazil,” Berger captioned the video. Berger lives in Wilmington, Delaware, and sings as an operatic tenor.

Berger said he was given the idea to surprise her with the song because he knew it had the power to evoke an emotional response in people.

“We were touring the bride’s hometown and the day before the wedding she said to me, I wanted to say something” he said.Opera is what I was trained inand I know the song plays to my strengths.”

It showed off her strengths, and people in the comments pointed out how powerful Berger’s voice is.

“Pavarotti would be proud,” one person wrote.

“It would be a crime not to tell your cousin and family about this beautiful gift,” wrote another. “You are absolutely amazing.”

One person even shared how the song hit especially close to home: “This brought tears to my eyes,” another wrote. “This was my grandpa’s favorite song and we played it at his funeral a few years ago. Thank you for bringing back all the good memories of him.”

Berger said that after she sang, many people commented on her talents: “My cousin and many of the guests told me they didn’t know I could sing like that, and many of them said it moved them,” she said. “It was a surprise because my cousin didn’t know I could sing, but her bride did.”

While she said that everyone liked her comment very much, she said that the focus of her comment was her cousin and daughter-in-law.

“It meant the world to me to be able to sing at her wedding because she’s my only cousin and so I love singing “Because I want to contribute to the community around me in a positive way,” he said. “If I can brighten someone’s day with my talents, that’s great.”
