Tractor trailer catches fire in toll booth accident on Blue Route

Video shows flames engulfing part of a toll booth on Interstate 476 at the Mid-County Junction around 3:30 a.m.

PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. – It was a rough morning for commuters in Montgomery County on Wednesday when a tractor-trailer crashed, causing major delays.

The truck was apparently traveling in the E-ZPass express lane when it hit the pole that holds the overhead sensors.

FOX 29’s Bob Kelly said it will take at least a half hour for crews to get the fire under control.

No one was injured in the incident.

Traffic was reduced from seven lanes to two while emergency crews cleared the scene and checked sensors for damage from the flames.
