Three people hospitalized, two seriously injured in Henderson stabbing

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Henderson Police and Fire responded to a stabbing in the Cadence community.

Police said officers responded to the 1100 block of Ruby Sparrow Street around 5:12 p.m.

Police said three people were sent to hospital, two in critical condition and the other in stable condition.

Henderson police said the suspect is in custody and there is no active threat to the community.

HPD asked residents to avoid the area.

FOX5 heard from a man who said he was the boyfriend of one of the stabbing victims. He did not want to go on camera but said his girlfriend, in her 30s, was one of the victims.

We have not heard from police on this matter. The man also did not say how the victims and the stabbing suspect knew each other.

Streets in the neighborhood were closed for more than five hours while authorities investigated the scene.

Residents like Jennifer had to find another way home. She describes what went through her mind after learning what had happened. The military veteran says she wasn’t afraid for her safety, but “it’s still scary and it’s concerning because lives are at stake and someone’s life could have been lost, we don’t know that right now,” Jennifer said. “But again, we pray for the family because it could have been you or me, and that’s not something to take lightly.”

This is a developing story. More details will be provided as they become available.
