After gaining popularity with Amazon Prime series Call Me Bae, Ananya Panday is all set to enthrall viewers once again with her upcoming Netflix thriller CTRL. The streaming platform released the much-anticipated trailer, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane, on Wednesday. The film promises to explore the intriguing intersection of technology and personal relationships.

The trailer begins like this: Ananya‘s character, Nella, signs up for an app designed to take control of her life and happiness. As expected, she lets the app take control, which leads to a series of unforeseen consequences. Initially, the trailer depicts Nella in a happy relationship with her boyfriend, played by Vihaan Samat. The couple share lighthearted moments on social media, showcasing their love story.

But the narrative takes a dark turn when Nella discovers her boyfriend’s infidelity. In a moment of desperation, she logs into the app in hopes of erasing her ex-boyfriend from her life. Unfortunately, this decision leads to her mysterious disappearance from reality, throwing Nella into a maelstrom of chaos as she becomes embroiled in an investigation that labels her as a suspect in his “murder.”

CTRL explores contemporary issues surrounding the role of technology in our lives. The film raises thought-provoking questions about the extent to which individuals are willing to surrender their autonomy to artificial intelligence. Ananya PandayNella’s character reflects a relatable struggle that many face in today’s digital age: balancing online personas with real-life identities.

In her statement about the film, Ananya described Nella as “like any of us” and highlighted how technology and social media have dominated modern existence. She stated that CTRL explores the fine line between one’s online presence and one’s true self, making it a relevant narrative for today’s audiences.

Produced by Saffron and Andolan in collaboration with Travelin Bone, CTRL has an impressive team behind its creation. The film is produced by Nikhil Dwivedi and Arya A Menon, while the writing credits go to Avinash Sampath and Vikramaditya Motwane. The dialogues have been penned by Sumukhi Suresh, providing a blend of sharp wit and emotional depth throughout the film.

This project marks Ananya Panday and Vihaan Samat’s second collaboration after their work in Call Me Bae. Their chemistry is expected to bring an additional layer of reality to the emotional core of the film.
