Mayor Malti Rai assesses the effectiveness of the helpline

Mayor Malti Rai on Tuesday called for faster turnaround in resolving citizen complaints received on the mayoral helpline, instructing officials to take immediate action on pending complaints.

Rai, while conducting a weekly review of the Mayor Helpline, expressed satisfaction with the functioning of the initiative and observed that citizens no longer need to visit BMC offices to seek solutions to their civic problems. The helpline helps women lodge complaints regarding any civic problem they face.

The mayor looks into the complaints every Tuesday and issues necessary instructions to the authorities for speedy resolution of the complaints. Rai also spoke to several complainants over the phone and took their feedback; the citizens expressed their gratitude for the speedy resolution of their issues. This month alone, a total of 2,870 complaints were registered on the helpline, of which 1,817 were resolved satisfactorily, while the remaining cases are yet to receive any results.
