Vegas Power Rankings for every SEC team entering Week 5

Vegas Power Rankings for every SEC team entering Week 5

College football rankings drive the conversation between games. The Coaches Poll, AP Poll and College Football Playoff selection committee rankings focus on the top 25 teams in the country. Las Vegas oddsmakers have strong rankings for all 134 FBS teams.

Vegas rankings tend to differ from traditional polls. The smartest people in the desert care only about how teams will perform against each other on a neutral court, as opposed to the records, resumes and preseason rankings that influence the top 25 polls.

Widely recognized as a leading college football expert, Phil Steele has connections to oddsmakers at the Las Vegas SuperBook and other casinos. Steele has published the weekly in-season Vegas Power Ratings since his time at ESPN. Today, he is an independent but continues to publish Vegas numbers weekly updates announced it on its website during the season.

Steele reminds fans that Vegas rankings don’t always reflect previous on-field results. South Carolina beat Kentucky in Lexington earlier this year, but the Vegas ratings still show the Wildcats just above the Gamecocks. And with a significant margin in the AP Top 25, Georgia sits atop the Vegas ratings, with Texas in third place.
