The Chicago Bears are looking to add more depth at the game’s most critical position.

Caleb Williams only has Tyson Bagent behind him, so adding another veteran player, even on the practice squad, shouldn’t be a problem.

With that in mind, they brought in former Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Chris Oladokun for a workout, according to Aaron Wilson.

Oladokun was waived to make room for Bailey Zappe on the Chiefs’ practice squad.

He spent several seasons on Andy Reid’s team and was often very helpful in imitating mobile quarterbacks.

The Chiefs praised him for his performance last season as they prepared to face Lamar Jackson in the AFC Championship Game, so some were surprised to see him left out.

The Bears have struggled offensively this season.

They rank last in the league in yards per game (3.7), and while Oladokun won’t be replacing Caleb Williams, it wouldn’t hurt to have some veteran guidance.

Oladokun has yet to play in an NFL game, but he has become one of the best in history.

Williams has drawn comparisons to Patrick Mahomes in the past, so perhaps he can give him some ideas and tips on how to make the most of that similarity and incorporate some of that into his own game.

The No. 1 pick has struggled through the first three weeks of the season, but the team will continue to trust him and be patient as he continues to grow and improve despite his mistakes.
