Community Foundation announces applications are now open for Holiday GiveOrcas

Calling all Orcas Island nonprofits! The application period for 2024 Holiday GiveOrcas grants opens on Monday, September 23.

OICF invites all Orcas Island nonprofits to submit grant proposals between September 23 and October 15, 2024. GiveOrcas Campaigns raise awareness of local nonprofits, projects in need of support, and raise funds to support programs that make Orcas a stronger, more truly thriving community.

The success of the campaigns is achieved through a collaborative relationship between OICF, island nonprofits, and the community that comes together to support the campaigns and the programs featured in them. GiveOrcas is a true community-wide effort. No donation is too small.

Nancy Stillger, Executive Director of the Orcas Island Historical Museums, emphasizes the importance of the biennial campaign.

“At the Orcas Island Historical Museums, our goal is to inspire the community, learn from our past, and celebrate our present to guide our future,” she said. “The GiveOrcas campaign is all about inspiring the community at its core! The GiveOrcas campaign allows us to do the work we do, including documenting the great work that other nonprofits do. Holiday time for the museums is about coming together, reflecting, and celebrating all that we are as an island community, both in the past and in the future. We love how we can come together during GiveOrcas and support each other to better our community.”

Applications are open to 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6) organizations, government agencies, schools, and community service organizations.
