Los Angeles Chargers reportedly adding veteran wide receiver Jalen Reagor to practice squad, per reporter Jordan Schultz.

Regor started the season on the New England Patriots’ practice squad but published last weekThis was followed by a post on Instagram by the wide receiver that could be interpreted as him being unhappy about not making the 53-man roster.

You have to wonder if the veteran wide receiver is unhappy being on New England’s practice squad.

Reagor, 25, never lived up to the potential that earned him a first-round pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2020 NFL draft. He spent just two seasons in Philly, catching 64 passes in 28 games for 695 yards and three touchdowns.

His selection was even more difficult for Eagles fans to stomach given that Justin Jefferson was selected just one pick later by the Minnesota Vikings and has since become one of the most explosive offensive weapons in football.

Reagor went to Minnesota after his ill-fated stint in Philadelphia and played in all 17 games for the team in 2022, but had just eight catches for 104 yards and a score.

He didn’t perform well for the Patriots last season, hauling in seven catches for 138 yards despite New England’s lack of offensive playmakers. After completing training camp and the preseason with the Pats, he was signed to the team’s practice squad in late August.

As for the Chargers, the young duo of Quentin Johnston and Ladd McConkey have had a solid start to the season, while Joshua Palmer remains a familiar target for quarterback Justin Herbert. But the team doesn’t have many strong options at wide receiver beyond that, meaning Reagor could carve out a small role in Los Angeles if he performs well on the practice squad.
