South Carolina High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams – Sept. 23

Although another round of games took place last weekend, South Carolina On3 Massey Ratings The list remained relatively the same as of September 23. The top ten teams did not change positions, with eight remaining undefeated as the 2024 South Carolina high school football season continues.

In contrast, of the teams ranked 11 through 25, only one has a perfect record (River Bluff is 5-0). Here’s where South Carolina’s best football teams rank before hundreds of games are played September 26-28.

The On3 Massey RatingsA model officially used during the BCS era that ranks sports teams by analyzing game results, strength of schedule, and win differential. According to the model, two teams from South Carolina are ranked in the top 100 nationally.

Previous: No. 1
The Trojans’ offense is ranked top in the state and scored 67 points in their last game against Nation Ford.pearl-the best team built a 57-13 halftime lead against the Falcons and never looked back. Meanwhile, their defense ranks second in South Carolina after allowing just 13 points to Nation Ford. The total they have given up in their last four wins (61) is less than they have conceded in their previous games. Northwestern will aim to go 6-0 against Catawba Ridge on Sept. 27.

Previous: No.2
It’s easy to see why the Silver Foxes have the best defense in South Carolina high school football. They have won three straight, including a 51-0 win over Oceanside Collegiate Academy. Maurice Anderson had three rushing touchdowns in that game, while Ethan Offing had one passing touchdown and one rushing touchdown. Meanwhile, the Dutch Fork defense blanked the Landsharks, making 48 tackles, four passes defensed and three sacks. The Silver Foxes will not play this week and will return to action on Oct. 4 against Chapin.

Previous: No.3
The Yellowjackets have allowed just 19 points in their last two games, conceding 12 to Myrtle Beach. In contrast, Irmo has scored 38 points, led by Aaron Brand Jr.’s passing and rushing touchdowns. Leek Miller and Amire White each have a rushing touchdown. Irmo can improve to 6-0 if they can beat Lexington on Oct. 4.

Previous: No. 4
The Indians overcame the challenge presented by Boiling Springs after scoring a touchdown in overtime. Jayvon Gilmore finished with 195 passing yards and a touchdown, while Chas Smith had 106 rushing yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Gaffney’s defense held its own with 11 negative yards and four sacks. Up next for the Indians is a high-profile showdown against seventh-ranked Spartanburg on Sept. 27.

Previous: No. 5
The Rams remain undefeated after surviving a determined challenge from Prince Avenue Christian. They scored 49 points in that game, bringing their average to 47.5 points per game, which ranks them as the third-best offense in South Carolina high school football. They have scored 50 or more points in two games, including a season-high 56 against TL Hanna. The Rams can improve to 5-0 with a surprise road win against top-ranked Weddington in North Carolina in Week 27.pearl.

Previous: No. 6
The Rams improved their record to 4-0 by defeating Mauldin 51-6 in their last game. Kalab Sutton and Jackson Free each scored twice, while Weston Willis had 119 passing yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Hillcrest’s defense stifled the Mavericks offense, racking up six tackles for loss, five sacks and one interception. Hillcrest, 27.pearlholds the unbeaten home record.

Previous: No. 7
The Vikings followed up their loss to Dutch Fork with two wins in which they allowed 12 points. Eastside scored just six points against Spartanburg in their last game and equaled Broome’s total when they faced the Vikings. Spartanburg faces a tough test Friday as it heads into a duel with fourth-ranked Gaffney.

Previous: No. 8
The Green Wave are tough to beat. It’s a lesson the Chapin Eagles learned the hard way, as Summerville scored 53 points against them. The Green Wave, South Carolina’s eighth-ranked offense, has scored at least 41 points in each of its last three games. Next up for the Green Wave is a matchup with Goose Creek, another team that point guard Jaden Cummings will need to analyze to beat.

Previous: No. 9
The Gamecocks maintained their undefeated record by giving up just seven points to Spring Valley. Led by edge rusher Anthony Addison, Sumter’s defense had 53 tackles (seven for loss), one interception and one sack. On offense, Kameron Fortune was a one-man wrecking crew with 270 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Sumter will close out its September schedule against Lugoff-Elgin on the 27thpearl.

Previous: No. 10
The Patriots comfortably improved to a 3-1 record with a 55-6 win over Easley. JL Mann is on a winning streak thanks to McLeod Darnell’s four touchdown passes and LaDainian Martin’s three rushing scores against the Green Wave. JL Mann can improve to 4-1 with a win at home against Greenville in Game 27.pearl.
