NHL Releases Trailer for Prime Video Docuseries

The start of the 2024-25 NHL season will also see the release of a new docuseries from Prime Video that follows some of the league’s biggest names. FACEOFF: Inside the NHL The series, which will premiere on Prime Video on October 4, will offer a unique look at the careers and lives of key players in the league.

Among the names that will appear in the series are David Pastrnak and Jeremy Swayman from Boston Bruins, Gabrial Landeskog from Colorado Avalanche, Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman from Edmonton Oilers, Matthew Tkachuk from Florida Panthers, Filip Forsberg from Nashville Predators, New York. They include Jacob Trouba of the York Rangers, William Nylander of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Quinn Hughes of the Vancouver Canucks and Jack Eichel of the Vegas Golden Knights.

The NHL and Prime Video have released the official trailer for the series, and it’ll feature plenty of content featuring the stars both on and off the ice.

One of the key moments in the trailer comes from the opening round series between the Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins, where Nylander is seen on camera telling a teammate, believed to be Mitch Marner, to “stop crying, bro.” Audio from that moment can be heard in the trailer.

The moment went viral as people tried to lip-read what Nylander was saying, with many concluding that he was saying, “That’s not Junior.” The new docuseries should shed new light on the incident.

According to a statement from the NHL, teams have been monitoring players, their friends and family throughout the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs, including the Finals series between the Oilers and Panthers.

The series will run for six episodes, focusing on two to three actors per episode.
