Strictly Come Dancing viewing figures confirmed as ratings drop

Peak viewership of 6.6 million was down from 7.3 million last year. Meanwhile, the show’s highest viewership to date came in 2020, when the first live show was watched by a peak audience of 10.2 million.

By comparison, the launch show that aired earlier this month, when the couple officially became together, was watched by an average of 5.5 million viewers across its time slot.

The Leaderboard The first week’s show topped JB Gill And Amy DowdenShe received an impressive 31 points for Waltz When I Need You Leo Sayer.

Meanwhile, Tasha Guri and Aljaž Škorjanec and Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola impressed with their dancing, each receiving 30 points. Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe and Wynne Evans and Katya Jones contributed to their team with 26 points each.

Commenting on the dance, Motsi Mabuse said: “Honestly, what a year it’s going to be to start Quickstep like this – fast, rhythmic, great hold, great timing, well done.”

This year’s season of Strictly continues next Saturday before the first results of the year air on Sunday night and the first contestant eliminated from the series.

Strictly Come Dancing continues every Saturday night, with results being announced on Sundays.
