Current Best Two-Starting Pitcher Pennants

Brady Basso (5% Roster), Oakland Athletics

Scheduled Starts: vs. TEX, @SEA

Brady Basso, recalled in September, has a 1.69 ERA, 2.29 FIP, 1.13 WHIP, 20% strikeout rate and 106 Location+ grade in three starts.

His upcoming opponents have had good offensive performances of late, but Texas and Seattle rank just 21st and 24th, respectively, in runs scored this season. He’s only a rookie, but he’s the only two starting pitchers you can count on to deliver in the final week of this fantasy baseball season.

Risky Two-Star Publisher Picks

Eduardo Rodriguez (34% Roster), Arizona Diamondbacks

Planned Starts: SF vs. SD

While his 4.10 FIP still has him talked about, Eduardo Rodriguez shouldn’t be one of the names you’ll be looking for on waiver lists this week.

In eight starts this season, he has a 5.09 ERA, 5.32 xERA, 20% strikeout rate, 8.8% SwStr% and a 75 Stuff+ rating. While he’s coming off his best start of the season, you can’t exactly trust Rodriguez against a San Diego offense that ranks eighth in scoring this season.

Dean Kremer (27% On Roster), Baltimore Orioles

Planned Starts: @NYY, @MIN

Dean Kremer has been mostly upright this season, posting a 4.19 ERA, 4.27 FIP, 22.5% strikeout rate, 9.2% walk rate and a 98 Pitching+ rating. Kremer has certainly had his weeks this season, but with two top-10 scoring offenses on his roster, he’s a pitcher to avoid.

Landon Knack (11% On Roster), Los Angeles Dodgers

Scheduled Starts: vs SD, @COL

It might seem like a godsend to pick up a Dodgers pitcher in a week where your streaming options are limited, but Landon Knack is not your go-to option on a week like this.

The Knack has had great success this season with a 3.39 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, 24.3% strikeout rate and 6.8% walk rate, but a 4.71 FIP and poor peripheral metrics are serious red flags.

He’ll have a San Diego offense that ranks eighth in scoring this season and a Colorado Rockies offense at Coors. The Knack is a pitcher who will be a major disappointment in the biggest week of the season.

Hayden Birdsong (8% Roster), San Francisco Giants

Planned Startups: @ARZ, vs. STL

The Arizona Diamondbacks have led the league in home runs by 53 runs this season; Hayden Birdsong has a 4.74 ERA, 4.94 FIP, and a 13.9% walk rate. Don’t fall victim to Birdsong this week.

Bailey Falter (6% on Roster), Pittsburgh Pirates

Scheduled Starters: MIL vs @NYY

With a 4.15 ERA, a 16.7% strikeout rate and two top-seven offenses on his schedule this season, Bailey Falter is an easy pitcher to avoid.
