Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans Team Up to Save Santa in ‘Red One’ Trailer

A new for the trailer Red OneSanta Claus (JK Simmons) has been kidnapped, and an unlikely team consisting of reluctant bounty hunter Jack O’Malley (Chris Evans) and Arctic Security Chief Callum Drift (Dwayne Johnson) must bring St. Nicholas back to save Christmas. The Amazon MGM Studios film hits theaters on November 15

The new trailer begins with O’Malley himself being kidnapped. Although he figures out what’s going on and fends off his captors, he’s eventually captured and brought to the North Pole, where Lucy Lui’s Zoe explains the dire situation: Santa Claus, codenamed “Red One,” has been kidnapped.

Zoe tells O’Malley, “You’re the best tracker in the world, you’re going to help us find him.” O’Malley insists he’s working alone, while Drift tells him the rescue will be a team effort, including a large, talking polar bear named Garcia. The team battles some “extremely dangerous” kidnappers, who appear to be evil snowmen and creepy creatures with demonic horns and tails.

The trailer hints at hidden portal stations found in toy store supply closets and various toy transformations, such as a toy Hot Wheels car being transformed into a real one, adding plenty of action to the Christmas magic.

Directed by Jake Kasdan, the film reunites the filmmaker with Johnson, the pair having previously worked together on the third and fourth installments of the series Jumanji Kiernan Shipka, Bonnie Hunt, Kristofer Hivju, Nick Kroll and Wesley Kimmel round out the series’ cast.
