Trump’s Florida Campaign Offices Evacuated After Prank Device Sold on Amazon

Former President Donald Trump‘S Campaign offices in West Palm Beach, Florida, were evacuated after what appeared to be a prank call.

A “suspicious incident” at the Republican National Committee offices in West Palm Beach on Thursday prompted the evacuation of staff. The New York Times White House correspondent Maggie Haberman reported.

While the incident was taking place, police arrived at the scene after an employee reported hearing a beeping sound coming from under his desk.

According to a West Palm Beach police report, three “chirping devices” were found under tables on August 29.

At the time, employees were concerned that the two-inch-long devices were listening in. Police said about 50 people were evacuated as a precaution.

The report included the following statements: “POTENTIAL LISTENING DEVICES FOUND // BEEPING SOUNDS HEARD FROM TABLES // INTERNAL SECURITY DEVICES ALSO FOUND.”

It was also stated that the person who called the police “THINKED THAT THEY FOUND LISTENING DEVICES ‘BUGS’ IN THE OFFICE.”

However, the police report stated that this was not an act of espionage but a hoax.

The equipment found was a prank plastic listening device called AnnoyingPCB, which can be purchased on Amazon for less than $14.

“ONE DEVICE, UNLIMITED CHAOS: AnnoyingPCB is the ultimate prank gift or revenge prank,” the device’s product description reads. “Simply activate the noisemaker and hide it. It will beep, squeal, or make a cricket sound at random intervals of 5 to 45 minutes. The perfect April Fool’s joke for your friends or coworkers!”

“COMPACT AND LIGHTWEIGHT: This super-small, annoying noisemaker can easily be hidden in most places,” the description also states. “This little noisemaker is inconspicuous and hard to find. It’s light enough to be held in place with unbranded tape or a magnet.”

The report said security guards reported the incident as a “joke.”

West Palm Beach police said it has not yet been confirmed who planted the devices in the office.
