Chicago Cubs Receive Bold Praise, Playoff Hype After ‘Magic Moment’

After a disappointing two-game losing streak, Chicago Cubs They came back with a tremendous performance on Wednesday night. Just Pittsburgh Pirates With the score 12-0, a no-hitter was thrown by three pitchers combining to pitch.

Could this be the start of a new winning streak for the Cubs, who have made an incredible effort to make the playoffs?

Speaking about the team and their chances of making it to the playoffs, Fox Sports MLB analyst Mark Sweeney gave them high praise.

He also issued a subtle warning to other teams around the league about what it could mean if Chicago wins a game without taking a hit.

“As I mentioned before, they’ve had different heroes. You have to worry about how they positioned themselves for the first four months of the year. But now they’re starting to get into a mode where they’re dangerous. They believe in themselves. And now you have this magical moment of no-hitter. It changes the dynamics inside the clubhouse. It’s a dangerous game because you never know who can be hot for a long period of time, and they’re doing that. They’re sustaining this hot streak.”

For those interested in watching, here’s a video of Sweeney talking about the Cubs:

Chicago is 10-3 in the team’s last 13 games. The Cubs were arguably the best team in baseball at the time. Unfortunately, as Sweeney points out, they may have dug themselves into a very deep hole at this point in the year and they can’t get out of it.

Regardless of whether Chicago makes the playoffs or not, fans should be proud of the team.

From a team that seemed to be drowning in water to a team that was making other teams vying for the final NL Wild Card spot nervous, the Cubs never gave up. They came together as a group and are playing their best baseball of the season.

At the very least, Chicago has made a promising case that it could return to contention in 2025.

With all that being said, it will be interesting to see what the final 22 games of the season bring for the Cubs. Their chances of making the playoffs may be slim, but it’s clear that hope is still very much alive for the team.
