21 Nueva Vizcaya Disabled Receives Php 1.2 Million Worth of Prosthetic Devices

BAYOMBONG, New Vizcaya — According to the Provincial Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) in this province, at least 21 disabled people here have been provided with prosthetics worth PHP1.2 million from national and local government units.

PDAO President Venus Cadabona said that the first group of 80 disabled people targeted to receive prosthetics in the state were given assistive devices.

“These artificial limbs are part of the holistic assistance provided by the provincial local government unit to our disabled people to empower them to be more productive individuals in their communities,” Cadabona said.

He said the prosthetics were funded through a partnership project implemented by the provincial local government unit, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC).

“The youngest owner of the prosthesis is 13-year-old Jaymark Sioco from Barangay Runruno in Quezon Town who was born with a physical disability, while the oldest owner is 80-year-old Rodolfo Rocacorba from Bayombong Town who lost his leg in a car accident,” Cadabona said.
