Honor Magic V3, One of the Best Foldable Devices, Is Now Available Globally

The foldable market is one where everyone needs to bring their best game to the table, phones are simply too expensive to launch a device that doesn’t deliver the level of value the average consumer expects from such high-end devices.

That’s part of what makes the Honor Magic V3 so exciting. It’s arguably the world’s best foldable device, but it was a shame that it was released as a China-only device. Well, now it’s time to celebrate, because Honor has unveiled the Magic V3 at IFA 2024 and celebrated its global launch.

Honor Magic V3 Is Equipped to Fight the Best; Foldable or Not

Each half of a foldable device is much thinner than the average slab smartphone. This puts a lot of limitations on the hardware you can fit inside these devices. For this reason, we’ve mostly been tolerant of weaker hardware despite much higher price points. But some manufacturers, like Honor, have managed to overcome these obstacles and deliver excellent specs despite the form factor.

The Honor Spell V3 It’s literally the world’s thinnest foldable device — it’s 9.2mm when folded and weighs just 226g — which makes its hardware all the more impressive. You get a 6.43-inch cover display and a 7.92-inch internal display, both LTPO OLED with a 120Hz refresh rate, and Dolby Vision. There 4.320Hz PWM dimming Plus, you still get the power of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with up to 16GB/1TB configuration in this body.

The camera setup is nothing to sneeze at either. We’re talking a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto camera with OIS, and a 40MP ultrawide camera. You get a selfie camera on each screen; both are 20MP lenses. Honor doesn’t let its thinness stop them from packing in a 5,150mAh cell with support for 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. It almost sounds too good to be true.

Honestly, just using the spec sheet, it’s hard to say that the Honor Magic V3 isn’t one of the best foldable phones you can get right now – if not the best. It has Wi-Fi 7, an IR blaster, IPX8 waterproofpen compatibility and DisplayPort 1.2 support round out the job: a definite winner.
