TOM FORD has announced the appointment of Haider Ackermann as Creative Director, effective immediately.

In his new role, Ackermann will assume creative leadership across all TOM FORD fashion categories, including menswear, womenswear, accessories and eyewear, and will guide the creative vision for the overall brand. TOM FORD is owned by The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. (NYSE:EL) and the fashion business is licensed to Ermenegildo Zegna Group (NYSE:ZGN) and the eyewear business to Marcolin SpA.


 

Founder Tom Ford said: “I’ve been a huge fan of Haider’s work for a long time. I find both his womenswear and menswear equally compelling. He’s an incredible colourist, his tailoring is sharp and, above all, modern. We share so many historical references and I couldn’t be more excited to see what he does with the brand. I think I’ll be the first person to give him a standing ovation after his show in March.”


 

Born in Bogota, Colombia, Ackermann, a French national, spent her childhood in Ethiopia, Chad, Algeria, the Netherlands and Belgium, where she studied fashion at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Known for her blend of luxurious fabrics with impeccable tailoring, Ackermann has garnered acclaim for her avant-garde yet wearable designs, which are favored by celebrities.

Ackermann’s first collection will debut at Paris Fashion Week in March 2025. Ackermann will be based in Paris and report to Guillaume Jesel, President and CEO of TOM FORD and Luxury Business Development of The Estée Lauder Companies, and Lelio Gavazza, CEO of TOM FORD FASHION of Ermenegildo Zegna Group.
