Prep summary: Minnewaska wins 4 championships in tournament

Sept. 29 – ALEXANDRIA – The Minnewaska girls tennis team won the West Central Conference individual championship at Nos. 1 and 3 singles and Nos. 1 and 2 doubles on Saturday to help the Lakers dominate the tournament.

In singles for Minnewaska, Alia Randt won 3-0 at No. 1 and Olivia Danielson won 3-0 at No. 3. The Lakers’ doubles teams, consisting of Rachel Rankin and Avarie Uhde at No. 1 and Katy Vold and Addy Heid at No. 2, were undefeated.

The team of Montevideo’s Ashley Klaassen at No. 2 singles, Carlee Axford at No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles Teagan Epema and Kylie Johnson won their respective conference titles.

Litchfield went 1-3 in the eight-team Dassel-Cokato Tournament on Saturday.

The Dragons beat Rockford 25-6, 25-17 and beat Mankato East 26-24, 29-27, Dassel-Cokato 25-15, 25-23 and Melrose 25-27, 25-20. lost 15-3.

Litchfield has a 5-12 record this season.

Big Lake (7-10) won the tournament by a score of 4-0. Mankato East (8-6) and White Bear Lake (12-6) won 3-1. Dassel-Cokato (9-11) and Eden Valley-Watkins (5-9) were 2-2, and Litchfield and Melrose (7-10) were 1-3. Rockford (1-10) went 0-4.
