I found the perfect accessory to carry my iPhone 16 Pro Max

I found the perfect accessory to carry my iPhone 16 Pro Max

As Apple wraps up its 2024 flagship smartphone releases, it’s time to take a look at the world of mobile accessories. iPhone 16 and other smartphones. I’m not talking about anyone else iPhone 16 case or MagSafe phone holder. No, today I’m looking for a stylish little hanger where you can carry your daily essentials. iPhone 16 Pro Maxaround the city. Say hello to the Shinjuku Sling from Waterfield Designs.

I’ve been a fan of Waterfield Designs for over a decade, having used many of their products including backpacks, messenger bags, and laptop sleeves. As someone who often carries more than one phone these days, I’m always looking for hardware that will make it a little easier.

If you want a sling big enough to hold even the largest iPhone and other daily essentials, the Shinjuku Sling is a great option. That’s why I liked it so much.

One of the things I love about Waterfield is that all of their products are made by hand in San Francisco. These are not mass produced products and each one is carefully manufactured using high quality materials.

The Shinjuku Sling is made of waxed canvas and full-grain leather, with X-Pac Canvas used in some colors. It’s available in five colors: navy blue, brown, black, storm gray and olive green (the last three colors are X-Pac versions). It’s a relatively compact pouch, measuring 8 x 2.5 x 5 inches, and weighs just 8.8 ounces when empty.

Despite its size, Shinjuku Sling is quite large and spacious. There is a main compartment in the middle and two zippered pockets on the outside. The one closest to your body is ideal for storing important documents such as passports. All compartments are covered in Waterfield’s signature gold plating, making it easy to see where your belongings are in the bag.

The main compartment features a large pocket for your phone, as well as two stretchy mesh pockets for small items. AirPods. My iPhone 16 Pro Max (without a case) fits easily in a pocket, leaving no room to spare. So even if you have a case, the phone should fit without any problems. This can also be used with other similar sized products. Android phones.

One of my favorite things about Waterfield products is the zippers. These are YKK waterproof zippers that are highly weather resistant, so even if you take this out in the rain, the contents will stay nice and dry. The main compartment’s two zipper pulls are customized, and you can use a third-party lock if you want extra protection.

The adjustable strap is comfortable to wear and features a paraglider-style metal buckle. You can easily attach some items to the strap that are too large to fit inside, such as hats, some water bottles, or even a small speaker. The strap can also be wrapped around chairs when you go out to provide an extra layer of security while sitting.

I’ve been using the Shinjuku Sling for the past few days when I want a light carry when going out. By light I just mean my phones, keys, card holder, lip balm, hand sanitizer. power bankand AirPods Pro. All of these fit comfortably and are easily accessible via the Shinjuku Sling.

The best part? Like all my other Waterfield products, this hanger will last for many years.

Expensive but worth it

The only downside to the Shinjuku Sling is its price. At $129 for all colors, it’s a bit expensive considering its overall size. I think around $80-90 would be more reasonable for something like this.

Despite its high price, it’s worth buying if you’re looking for a compact hanger for your phone and other essentials. I have a few other Waterfield products and they are designed to last for years. So if you drop $129 for the Shinjuku Sling, this will probably be the last sling bag you’ll need for a while.
