4.2 magnitude earthquake hits California south of San Francisco

AROMAS, Calif. (AP) — A 4.2-magnitude earthquake shook part of central California early Sunday, the United States Geological Survey reported.

The science agency’s website and social media post stated that the earthquake was detected at 02:47 local time, approximately 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) northwest of Aromas and at a depth of 7.4 kilometers (4.59 miles).

According to local media reports, no injuries or major property damage were reported.

Aromas is approximately 94 miles (151 kilometers) south of San Francisco.
