Featured stories and players as Oklahoma HS volleyball’s offseason approaches

It may be hard to believe but 2024 Oklahoma High School volleyball The state tournaments are less than a month away.

It’s already been an eventful year on the field and a few OKC area teams They are in the state championship conversation in their classification.

Here are some OKC area stories and the 20 players featured so far:

Most popular stories

St. Mount Mary is flying high in Class 5A. So any discussion of volleyball should probably start like this: rockets. They faced some of the best teams in all divisions and beat them all. MountSt. St. Mary’s have a 26-1 record and their only loss came against a Texas team that is one of the best in the country. MountSt. Mary captured the Class 5A state title in 2021 and 2022 before moving to Class 6A in 2023, but the Rockets moved back to Class 5A and showed they have what it takes to win it all.

Can Moore capture her first volleyball title? The Lions have yet to win a state championship in that sport, but are ranked No. 1 in Class 6A and are playing well and have an 18-2 record. With a balanced roster that includes seniors like outside hitters Karlee Siegfried and Addison Worley, middle blockers Mia Benson and Jocelyn Thomas, and libero Lauryn Weber, Moore will look to make history at the school.

The Christian Legacy looks set to be repeated. The Crusaders are the defending champions of Class 3A. They are 23-7 on the season but are yet to lose against Class 3A competition. They will look to finish strong and capture their sixth volleyball title since 2014.

20 players to watch as the 2024 volleyball season reaches its final stage

Georgia Ahlert, Sr., St. Mount Mary: The 6-foot-5 middle blocker leads Mount St. in hitting percentage (.390) and blocks (70). It is located in front of Mary. He also has 263 kills and 26 aces.

MacKenzie Bass, Senior, St. Mount Mary: Bass, a 6-foot-10 libero, leads her team with 333 digs and a 2.15 serve receiving rating. He also has 22 aces and more than 1,000 career digs.

Annie Brown, Senior, Southwest Convention: The setter recently surpassed 750 career assists and has a chance to reach 1,000 by the end of the season.

Emrie Brown, Senior, Mustang: Brown, a middle attacker, has 46 blocks and a .348 kill percentage.

Sophie Brown, Senior, Southwest Convention: Annie Brown’s twin. An outside hitter, she has 223 kills.

Chandler Cordray, Jr., Carl Albert: He is a standout passer for the Titans and helped them to a 17-8 record and a No. 6 ranking in Class 5A.

Reagan Ferris, Fr., Heritage Hall: The outside hitter is averaging 10 digs, nine kills and one ace per game.

Reece Foster, Fr., Heritage Hall: He is an outside hitter but has also filled in some as a setter. She is averaging nine digs, six kills, three aces and two assists per match.

Emma Gardner, Jr., McGuinness: The 6-foot-4 outside hitter is committed to Division I Long Beach State. She has a .310 hitting percentage and averages 8.2 kills per set. He has a serve percentage of 97 and a return average of 1.80.

Reagan Glenn, Jr., Mustang: The setter had 545 assists, 182 digs and 26 blocks.

Ashlynne Hale, Jr., Christian Heritage: Middle blocker Hale has 177 kills and 44 blocks.

Tatum Lentz, Jr., Heritage Hall: The middle blocker is averaging seven kills, three digs, two blocks and one ace per game.

Rachel Megna, Jr., Oklahoma Christian School: He is a libero and is known for his defense. Megna recently transferred to Tulsa.

Miley Myers, Jr., Oklahoma Christian School: An outside hitter recently surpassed 500 career kills.

Karlee Siegfried, Senior, Moore: Siegfried, one of the few talented players on Moore’s roster, has 161 kills, 151 digs and 25 aces.

Kailey Stuart, Sr., Carl Albert: She had 149 kills, 46 aces and 27 assists for the Titans.

Jocelyn Thomas, Senior, Moore: The middle blocker has 100 kills, a .300 hitting percentage, 33 aces and 25 blocks.

Livia Ward, Senior, St. Mount Mary: The 6-foot-10 passer is committed to Washington State and holds the school record for assists (3,220). Ward has 794 assists, a 96.9 service percentage and a 2.04 service rating this season for Mount St. Mary’s leader. She also has 240 digs, 111 kills, 36 blocks, 30 aces and a .376 hitting percentage.

Avery Whitmill, Sr., Christian Heritage: The setter had a great high school career and recorded 1,163 assists. He had 689 assists, 158 digs and 55 aces this season.

Addison Worley, Senior, Moore: The outside hitter has 266 kills, a .265 hitting percentage, 214 digs and 27 aces. He surpassed 1,000 career digs this season.
