Owensboro TikTok creator gets input while reviewing costumes

A local TikTok creator who started his social media journey a few months ago has experienced an unexpected surge in popularity after a recently posted video went viral. Originally focusing on audio impressions, Matt Spencer has transitioned to Marvel-related content, including movie reviews and news.

The turning point came with the Halloween-themed video, which featured a Wolverine costume inspired by the latest “Deadpool & Wolverine” movie. The costume video garnered 3.7 million views.

“I was so excited and shocked when the video was released,” Spencer said. “I decided to continue doing costume reviews and have since grown my following from 24 followers to 4,522 followers in 3 weeks and growing every day.”

Spencer said other content he does include comedy shows, audio appearances and voice-overs.

“Being fun is something I’ve always loved,” he said. “I’m always looking for new ideas to keep people watching, which is why I enjoy creating these cosplay videos.”

With their newfound popularity, Spencer said he plans to continue exploring creative costume ideas and expanding his presence on TikTok, where his username is @matt.spencer00.
