MIKU, WHO CAN’T SING, Shares 2025 Premiere Date and Main Trailer

Considering how popular Hatsune Miku is around the world, it’s hard to believe that the virtual reality idol hasn’t starred in her own feature film yet. The key word though is be.

In July, it was announced that PA Works would produce the first anime film starring Hatsune Miku. with title Colorful Scene! Movie: Miku Who Can’t SingA theatrical film based on the popular video game. Hatsune Miku: Colorful Scene! From SEGA and developer Colorful Palette.

However, it features a completely original story created by animation studio PA Works. Set in modern-day Shibuya, the film follows high school student and street musician Ichika Hoshino, who hears a Miku song he has never heard before in a music store. He then sees Hatsune Miku on the monitor in a form he has never seen before. After one of her street performances, this mysterious version of Miku appears on her smartphone and tells her that she is having trouble reaching people with her songs. No matter how much he sings, the songs never reach them. Having just watched Ichika connect with her audience through live street performance, Hatsune Miku believes she could be the key to helping her regain her presence in the music world.

The story of the game is a bit different as it introduces Sekai, a strange place that allows everyone to discover their true feelings and their own song. The explanation is as follows:

Find your true feelings! A mysterious song called “Untitled”, which has no melody or lyrics, is circulating among young people in Shibuya, Tokyo. This song unlocks access to “SEKAI”, a strange place that allows anyone to discover their true feelings and their own song.

Play as Hatsune Miku and her Virtual Friends and the original cast of 20 characters who overcome their struggles with the power of music.

The play features a group of five musicians, each with their own story focusing on their journey to convey their “true feelings”.

PA Works is producing the new anime movie, which will be directed by Hiroyuki Hata. Yoko Yonaiyama provides the script, Yuki Akiyama and Masatoshi Tsuji serve as chief animation directors and provide character designs, and Satoshi Hono provides the music.
