Commissioners to consider county contract with Florida software company – Sterling Journal-Advocate

Government Software Assurance Corp. of Winter Park, Fla., for a five-year services contract to provide software services to the Logan County Assessor’s Office when the Logan County Board of Commissioners meets Tuesday morning. will consider making an agreement with

Assessor Peggy Michaels learned earlier this month that her office was the only assessor’s office in Greeley with Computer Information Concepts; all other evaluators preferred GSA because they believed that CIC would not support the evaluator software for much longer. In fact, Michaels told commissioners at a Sept. 10 work session that there were fears CIC would leave Colorado altogether because of the number of customers they were losing.

CIC claims to focus on municipal and county software needs, but Logan County officials, including Michaels, complain that the company does not provide real support.

Michaels’ task is made even more difficult by the fact that 2025 is a “revaluation” year in which county assessors adjust their assessments based on real-world property values in the county. Once that transaction is complete, Michaels said his office can continue the transformation. At the same time, all county offices are scrambling to comply with the Colorado Legislature’s new mandates regarding public websites. Michaels told commissioners he was working on a spreadsheet to determine how much the new law would cost Logan County, but it’s difficult because “there are so many moving parts.”

The total cost of the five-year transformation will be $210,000 and is planned to be implemented in June 2025.

Tuesday’s business agenda also includes a Parcel Exemption application in the name of Ellen M. Klinzmann to create a 27.16-acre parcel in the Agriculture (A) zoning district and a 7.89-acre parcel from a 35.00-acre parcel. separation of existing residential use in Tract 2 from adjacent cropland;

Subdivision Exemption application on behalf of Two Buttes, LLC, to create a 3.02 acre parcel for residential use from a 61.00 acre parcel in the Agricultural (A) zoning district;

Two Conditional Use Permit applications on behalf of Trailblazer CO2 Pipeline, LLC for the construction and installation of new trunk valves on existing pipelines.

Commissioners will meet in work session at 9 a.m. with a business meeting scheduled for 9:30 a.m. in the Logan County Courthouse Commissioners Meeting Room.
